Places to visit in Cesme The first place on the list is Çeşme Castle. Located in Cumhuriye Square, Çeşme Castle was built in the 1500s when Bayezid II was the sultan. Çeşme Castle, which has a statue of Captain Hasan Pasha in front of its main gate, has a wonderful panoramic view.

Altınkum Beach, located 10 minutes from Çeşme district center, must be seen with its 500 meters of clean sandy beach and clear sea. The water of this beach, named after its golden yellow sands, is quite cold and waveless.

There are two legends that Erythrai Ancient City, one of the important historical textures of Çeşme, is named after its red colored soil or Erythro, the son of Rhadamanthes of Crete, the first founder of the city. This ancient city is located in Ildırı Village, 26 kilometers away from Çeşme. This ancient city has an acropolis, the Temple of Athena and an ancient theater.

Ilıca Beach is very hot because it is fed by underground springs. Healing can also be found in the surfable waters.
